2nd European Meeting of Coaches Associations and Coaching Organisations

The ICCE, its continental group European Coaching Council, and Hellenic Federation of Sports Coaches and Trainers (POPA) hosted a very successful 2nd European Meeting of Coaches Associations and Coaching Organisations in Greece on 23-34 May 2016, after the 1st European Meeting in Cologne, Germany in April 2014. This meeting was a further opportunity to shape up the representation of sport coaches and sport coaching on a European level.

SCORE Second Steering Commitee Meeting held in Brussels

The Steering Committee of SCORE ("Strengthening Coaching with the Objective to Raise Equality") project met in Brussels on 18 April 2016. The main aim of the meeting was to to assess what has been achieved so far regarding the programme for the Education for Mentors, validate the content of the SCORE toolkit “Awareness Pack”, and plan future dissemination activities and in particular the final conference. SCORE is a European project supported by the Erasmus+ Sport Programme and led by the European Non-Governmental Sports Organisation (ENGSO).

Japan break from male tradition to appoint Takakura as women’s head coach

Asako Takakura has been appointed the first ever female coach of Japan’s senior women’s national team, hailed as an important breakthrough in promoting gender equality and the skills of female coaches globally.

Waking up the sleeping tiger of sport in India

ICCE sport coaching experts and Leeds Beckett University recently supported the Sport Authority of India at the first ever Coaching Conclave at the National Institute of Sport in Patiala.

ICCE and Leeds Beckett University - The Power of Partnership

On Friday 15th April, International Council for Coaching Excellence (ICCE) and Leeds Beckett University (LBU) colleagues met for a networking lunch to celebrate five years of both organisations working together.* During the event, core staff from the ICCE and Sport Coaching teaching staff from LBU presented their thoughts on the 'Power of the Partnership' to date.
