ICCE and Leeds Beckett research and development programmes support historic ‘1st Cooperation in Sport Seminar’ between the Chinese government and the European Commission in Shanghai
The meeting took place within the framework of the 4th Round of the China-EU High-Level People to People Dialogue which, for the first time, included sport as a key topic. Carnegie School of Sport Senior Research Fellow Sergio Lara-Bercial travelled to Shanghai as part of the EU sport expert delegation invited by EU Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Mr Tibor Navracsics.
The Hungarian Coaching Association hosted the iCoachKids working group members in Budapest for the 3rd transnational partner meeting. On the table, the approval of the European Coaching Children Curriculum and the initial design of the three FREE online training courses to be developed over the next two years.
A hundred coaches, coach developers and researchers from 15 different countries came together in Budapest for the 1st ever iCoachKids Conference. The conference showcased the work of the partnership over the last 12 months as well as including a series of keynotes and best practice case studies from across the European Union.
Participation, Recreation and Inclusion through Martial Arts Education (PRIME) - Workshop II: 9-10 September 2017, Oxford
The second workshop of the Participation, Recreation and Inclusion through Martial Arts Education (PRIME) project, took place in Oxford on 9-10 September 2017. Ladislav Petrovic and Sergio Lara-Bercial represented the ICCE and led a session on Coaching Frameworks, with an emphasis on the European Sport Coaching Framework.
The first Conference of the iCoachKids project will take place on 3rd November 2017 in Budapest, Hungary. The event will aim to gather feedback from stakeholders informing the development of a European Coaching Children Curriculum.
iCoachKids has published the eagerly awaited Coaching Children Literature Review. The review is a central piece of iCK. It aims to provide the necessary evidence to aid the development of a European Coaching Children Curriculum (ECCC) to guide those developing training opportunities for coaches of children and young people in the European Union and beyond. The review has also provided the foundations for The iCoachKids Pledge
Project iCoachKids are delighted to announce a new cooperation agreement with the National Youth Sport Institute (NYSI) of Singapore to drive the quality of youth sport experiences in the South-East Asian country.
The Erasmus+ co-funded project led by Leeds Beckett University and the ICCE developing FREE educational resources for youth coaches was presented in the Danish coastal city of Aarhus, European Capital of Culture 2017, during the activities of the European Sport Summit 2017.
